Emily Brontë was a British novelist and poet who brought a wild intensity of passion, solitude, and elemental nature into Victorian literature. In Wuthering Heights, she created a dark, uncompromising, and almost hypnotic tale of love and revenge, where the characters seem as storm-driven as the Yorkshire moors around them. Her body of work is small but extraordinary, including a single novel, poems, and early imaginative writings shaped within the private creative world of the Brontë siblings. Like her sisters, she first entered print under a male pseudonym, publishing as Ellis Bell.
